Entry 2-6-7-7

The forest is alive

Old as the sky and the earth, the first lifeforms that were ever to live on Alaris. Even with the the other original races the gods had made, the Fae of this world were the oldest. To stabilize the trees and grow their mass, the Dryads were born. The trees of this world were crafted by the Dryads, as other races did their houses. The trees were the lives of the Dryads, and were protected at any cost.  Any tree that one sees in the Fae region has a good chance of being the shell for a dryad. Beyond Sihuriel, however, less and less Dryads are common. They love peace more than anything, enjoying the silent solitude that an autumn forest presents.

Next the Elora were born, the life of the wind, ground and water. Giving diversity to the world, both functional and decorative. Unlike some of their brothers and sisters, the expansive reach of the Elora spread across any place that had plant life. The Elora lost their power over time, having given the world a gift and slowly losing that reach as the world no longer needed it. Todays Elora are powerful, but mostly in cases where nature is threatened. The air still flows with their song, and the earth still answers their call. Their life force gave the world abundance. Flowers, fruits and vegetables, herbs, all of it. If they were all to die out, the life would go with them.

Finally were the defenders of the Fae. The importance of their lives was the protection of nature at any cost. The Olani were built to stand guard. They appeared like the other Fae, but they lacked alot of the same features. They had none of the bright colored eyes or hair, their bodies didnt have the elemental features, yet they fit in among their brethren. Their eyes can be seen in the darkness, ever vigilant over those they would give their life to protect. Beyond their guard, they have no other purpose.  Social Olani are possible, and tend to be the brightest of their friends in terms of joy and the life of the party. They often will bond with the Elora, considering the two races often work in coordination.
